Abstract

Although Chile is a small player in international trade (its total exchange does not exceed 0.28% of world trade), the Chilean economy has opened up considerably, both in commercial and financial aspects, showing an interesting development of the export sector and a receptivity to products and services of external origin, and has consolidated a non-discriminatory regime for foreign investment, all of which have contributed significantly to its growth trajectory. In the last fifteen years, Chilean entrepreneurs, protagonists of these processes, have developed economic ties beyond the usual scenarios constituted by Latin American markets, opening up to regions such as Asia-Pacific.
