Abstract

The limited economic growth of Latin America has occurred with an increase in distributive inequality. There are several spaces for convergence in growth with equity, which, when strengthened, contribute to achieving this goal. This paper describes the current ECLAC proposals based on the focus of productive transformation with equity, emphasizing some aspects more related to the external dimension. Some valuable advances that have been made in the region are first described, but noting that significant problems still persist. In this sense, it addresses three strategic areas: export leadership, the domestic financial system, and trade reforms.
